We Are Creative: A lovely reminder.

after a creative bout with reflection,
I would like to remind:

I worried I wouldn't be creative enough.
Now here now is a reminder:
I AM CREATIVE.
This word in context,
not need an adjective,
nor an expressive,
It simply is. :) <3

Secondly, why so worried
with the word enough?
It may be in your worries
lose sight of yourself.
Only inspiration from others,
no neglects, but yes yes
to your true wealth.

wait a second,
were you just judging yourself?
enough ;) .... it's okay,
to feel not enough.
and it's okay
you just judged yourself

Living human: "fear and/of/or failure"
Those moments are real,
Lose my creativity, n' lose my creator.
But that is not possible my friend! :D
for created is truth; and you are the bearer.

#gonatural

Love.
Mahalo.

Come Rest

Come rest your head, little One
I see that you've been hurt
lay here as long a you need
in this safety
i will hold you for an eternity
and whereever you want to be
i am with you
you will always be with me

tell me what happened
i'll hold you until you feel better
you are so precious to me
this is all i want you to see
and when you feel better
lets go play life n go seek

A Delightful Person

I DONT GIVE A FUCK!
says a voice deep within me
yet insrcuries like a plague
all up in me

fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

perfection risen through insecurities
my facade felt so safe
fake myself out so good, shit
i thought i was aceing it, mate
and thennnnn what happened?

life, alas, does nudge me its way
in those moments, i truly pray
HALLELUJAH there is truth
i welcome you shattering my brute
like the rain washing away
this spider's work will see another day

let that facade shit be washed away!
mother nature, plz bring me another day
thank you, You; for You - period
the old me wants to roll out a red carpet for you
but you dont give a fuck
so let me shut up and get outta your way
horray! i dont give a fuck

Problem With Willpower

Willpower
'all you need to do is get over that hump' they say
results short-lived

Passion
because when it comes from the heart
results forever

Let it come from your heart
Love out

"Don't be afraid to be weak
Don't be too proud to be strong
Just look into your heart my friend
Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
The return to innocence"

Fallbundance

Fall has come
yay

as with the leaves
i release
known tribulations
to bring future peace

Getting lost in the leaves
buried in its glory

Now is the dense abundance
Now a chasing dreams
Now with my playful growl
Open to Life showing me How

Growth - A Look Back

A born again imperfectionist looks back and realize how much i've grown.

Two years ago, couldn't let go. The blues filled my shoes; depression glued true.
Two years ago I was egotistical. I, I, I, I, I still am, but far less; excited to Show.
Two years ago I didn't listen well. Blessings in the depth; excited to hear more.
Two years ago I was so hard on myself. Love grows everyday; ready to let go.
Two years ago I was I, I, I, I, I!  We now; excited for synergy.
Two years ago I wasn't even here! So excited, to see where i'm gonna go.

what's up, what's up
what's up, what's up, what's up??
SUSAN!

update: a month in this know. yea, gurl, let it go. building you up to drop your ego.

Easy Healing, baby

Chasing holistic health
I come to learn:
Healing can be so easy
baby, come take your turn

No need for gurus
Take a deep breath -
full then empty lungs
no need for special guns

No need for the things unheard
drink your water
any better than none

No need for a personal trainer
just go out there and have fun
move your body
it doesn't matter
bask. bask.
bask in the sun

In time..
you will get
what you need to learn
until then
do a twirl, sure even have a chocolate swirl

as long as you're happy baby
all will come to you - even w/ a cherry
on top.. cuz it's good like that
all you gotta do is ask

from vidyasury.com

and part 2. for those who don't think they deserve:

YES YOU DO
YES YOU DO i say again
YES YOU DO

baby, i love you
i hope you do too
take off your shoes
let you love you

YES YOU DO
so be it
believe it
it's true

Probiotics in Sauerkraut

My first batch of sauerkraut. Go big or go home, no?

You must know that our gut is responsible for part of our immunity, our well being.
It harbors both good and bad bacteria.
Ideally, you want 80% good bacteria (probiotics) and 20% bad guys (they're inevitable)
Most people have this ratio switched; 80% bad guys :'(

As Lamar would say, "Don't just take my word for it"
If you are serious about your well being,

don't just take my word for it...... try it :]

Other sources of probiotics:
- Apple Cider Vinegar
(unfiltered, raw, with mother)
- Kefir
- Yogurt
- Kimchee
- Kombucha
- Cheese (don't go crazy now,kids)
- Miso
(Pretty much fermented things)

For my extra credit bunnies ^__^: Research what a pre-biotic is and know that every time you have soluble fiber, you are feeding your probiotics (yay chia seeds!)

Bee Month-iversary

My beautiful girls
You are totally rockin my world

- Bee's pollinate our flowers - responsible for a majority of our fruit and vegetable production
- Bee's make honey: the wonderful antioxidant-full superfood.  It is anti-bacterial and never spoils!
- Bee's make wax: its benefits are almost endless. Check this list out.
- Bee's make propolis: Fight infections, powerful antioxidant. Check out this short read
- Bee's make royal jelly: can't have too many anti-oxidants, here are 10 benefits of royal jelly

Love In Bloom

Told my gf..

It takes a lot to get me to bloom
yet in reality it is exactly what's needed
but only in your own shoes
To make fruit,
one must bloom,
shine in their own shoes;
and then shine em too -
wait to be pollinated,
in order to make fruit.

So bloom and bloom bloom ;]
it's only when you
sprout through for your seed's truth
that life will give you fruit
and when it comes
ooOo baby may i have a bite with you
rarw

(Thanks, sista ;})

How to Help Feral Cats in San Francisco

I recently moved into my new place and noticed cats in my backyard.  A couple months later, I noticed juvenile cats.  Upon observing my lovely neighbor who feeds them, I've noticed up to 11 cats in that moment.  ZOMG, that's a lotta cats!!

I told my hula sisters, "I've got lots of wild city cats in my backyard."
She said, "You mean feral cats?"
She referred me to work with San Francisco's SPCA and the rest is history:

A link to San Francisco's SPCA Community Cats Program.
Hit up the friendly cat angels:
(415) 522-3539
communitycares@sfspca.org

Feral cats:
- Can give birth to 3-8 cats per liter
- Are usually hungry and unvaccinated; lots of suffering :'(
- Are usually euthanized :'(

Why do we should help them:
- Help eliminate their stress caused by competition for resources
- Help their little bodies stay strong with vaccinations
- You don't want 20+ cats in your backyard

The SF SPCA will:
- Provide you with humane traps
- Spay or Neuter your kitty
- Vaccinate them
- Clip their ear (this is how you recognize a cat has been fixed)
- Provide advice and training on how to use the cat traps
- Give you a medical report of your kitty
- All for free with smiles upon smiles! (please consider a donation if you are able.  Each procedure usually runs $150 - $300)

Side notes:
- Be present and plan it out.  You don't want your cats sitting in the trap waiting long for you.  I checked on my traps every morning and evening.  If I was home, I never played music so I could hear a trap go off.
- Cats will have to recover overnight before they are released.  If you have Spotify, search "Cat and Dog Brainwave"  Play it for your kitty before they're released
- Some cats will f-ing hate you, don't be alarmed
- Some cats will be so startled they can smash into the cage so hard they knock their teeth out (it happened to one of my kitties I named Charles)
- This project was quite traumatizing at first. Mantra: I am brave, I am kind.
- Three of the kitties were actually prego; we let the babies go in their 1st trimester :'(
- At first I hesitated to neuter the male cats since I read online somewhere that they lose their fighting mojo.  My friends encouraged me to continue.  And as an update, I believe the cats are doing really well; I still hear them fighting in my backyard.

SPCA will give you traps, sheets, even food to bait

Trap baiting; getting them used to the traps. no trapping here yet.

Trap setting, here's the real deal (note traps are now separated)

Trapped: The Commute. Make sure you keep the covers on them at all times to keep them calm.

This is Charles. He's the one who had his tooth knocked out :[ poor baby

Kitty wants to get out, make sure you try to cover them asap.

Possums, they can happen too

A fixed cat being supportive to a trapped colony member. Notice his left ear is clipped.

last tid-bit: get a large bin for travel in case they pee in your car (it happened)

HMU if you have questions or need help with your feral cats.
Meow-ing out. Peace and Paws. =^_^=

Ants In My Life

I've been cutting through some of my bullshit that I usually hide in: cigarettes, food, music, etc.
It's been rough but I feel grateful for the awareness.

I've also got tons of ant roommates.
Lately they've been crawling in more areas than usual.
Today, one crawled into my ear.
I can now say I know what an ant crawling against your ear drum sounds like.
Trippy. Thanks, ants.

A google image search for forest ants.

An excerpt from spirit-animals.com:

When Ant comes marching into your life:

Encountering an ant you should consider that all good things come with time, and effort. Work with diligence, with conviction, and work with others in order to forge your dreams and turn them into reality. Despite their tiny size these little spirits are immensely strong, great strength of will and accomplishment can come even in the smallest of packages.
Alternatively it may be time to consider your own role, concentrate on your specialties and make sure you are making the most of your natural gifts. However, remain aware that nothing can be accomplished without the unity of the whole. Think about how your own contributions in your career, your family, and day to day life fit into the larger picture. No matter how small your task, or your contribution, it is still essential.
